Heading : Georgian cut glass decanter

Colour : Clear. good dark hue
Stopper : Hollow ball with radial cutting above a band of high relief diamonds and slice cut lower third.
Neck : Three mitre cut neck rings with slice cuts between
Body : A field of large diamonds above a band of saw tooth rism cuts. Comb cut band around the base
Pontil : Broad polished pontil
Glass Type : Lead
Size : 24cm tall. 4.5cm bowl. 8.5cm foot
Condition : Very good. The area outside the polished pontil is matt with fine scratches ( mossing). This wear is to be expected without the base being polished. There is some fritting at the base of the spigot
Restoration : None
Weight : 750gms

Ex-McConnell collection. This is strictly speaking not Regency period ( 1811-1820). however the exuberant cutting style certainly developed in the previous two decades with the availablity reliable steam powered drives for cutting tools
