Every Ikora piece is unique. The colours were achieved by the application of metal oxides on the surface of the glass and other metal ions within the glass itself. Many authors say the inspiration was Japanese enamel decotaration. however the history of WMF clearly states that the inspiration was an accidental discovery when try to replicate iridised and silver coated surfaces on glass.
