Description

Heading : Applied peacock trail baskets with metal frame. centrepiece or epergne
Date : Edward VII 1905- 1915
Origin : Stourbridge. or Birmingham England 
Colour : Clear with green. 
Bowl : Six way crimped rim. green peacock eye trailing. 
Pontil : Polished
Glass Type : Lead
Size : 29.5cm height. 36cm width.

Condition : Excellent. no chips or cracks – some minor water residue. The frame is stable
Restoration : None

Weight : 899  grams

The design for the popular and distinctive “peacock trails” is accredited to A Stainer ( appropriate for soemone in the glass trade) of Stuart. This art nouveau classic was however widely copied in the UK by Stevens and Williams and Thomas Webb. It was also used extensively by Harrach.

We cannot fins any catalogie references for this and thus it is English but unattributed
