Heading : WMF Art Nouveau silver plate and glass centrepiece

Origin : Gieslingen-an-der-Steige. Germany
Decoration : Cast foot with sytlised naturalistic floral and foliate decoration. The stand formed of elaborate whiplash stems capped with tulips. The tilip leaves support the glass bowl. The pale green glass with undulating rim and cut and engraved stylised floral design.
Size : 35cm height. 43.7cm width
Condition : Excellent. the metal in near-perfect condition with only a little wear to the plating on the high points. the glass with a couple of scratches to the rim

Weight : 1558 grams
The underside of the foot with a WMF I/O AS marks – the I/O refering to silver plating and the AS meaning antique silver finish. a popular finish applied to WMF pieces. An identical piece was sold at Christie’s New York on the 21st of December 2006 for 1680 USD
