An Iridescent Pallme-Konig Spirit Flask c1900

Heading : A fine Pallme-Konig spirit flask
Date : c1900
Origin : Teplitz ( Teplice) Bohemia ( now Czech Republic)
Colour : Opalescent with recessed dark violet trailing
Bowl : Tapered with polished pewter hinged cover and handle
Pontil : The base is mould finished as is invariably the case with Pallme Konig carafes
Glass Type : Lead free
Size : 17.5cm in height from finial to base

Condition : Excellent, no chips or cracks. Full working order
Restoration : None

Weight :  270grams

Thus was originaly intended for Slivovits, a type of plum brandy that is traditionally drunk with beer a Czech equivalent to schnapps. The capacity is equivalent four "large" measures, enough to slake all but the most voracious of thirsts. The iridescence is most pronounced and is complimented by the trailing.

The pewterers mark is unknown to us. This is adjacent to the hinge as shown
