Additional Information : This is an Edwardian 20th century example of the popular 18^th century drawn trumpet wine glass. The Edwardian period saw a renewed interest in all things Georgian and many examples of earlier glasses were manufactured at this time. To the inexperienced eye they seem very similar to the original 18^th century examples and to help we have pictured this glass next to a genuine 18^th century example.  As you will see it is very difficult from a picture alone to identify differences. however you will notice the that foot is much less conical (flatter) and the join between the stem and foot is  “cleaner”. more precise. The fold on the foot is also much thicker on the later example and the glass itself is much brighter. akin to modern lead crystal.  These glasses often appear on the internet. EBAY and websites and are presented  as genuine 18^th century genuine examples.
