The date was reserved for the coronation of Edward VIII. however. having put affairs of the heart ahead of his duty brother Bertie and the incomparable Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon rose to the challenge. It is sixteen years since she passed away and nobody will ever replace Elizabeth Angela Marguerite.
We sincerely hope that the forthcoming introduction of the American divorcee Ms Markle into our Royal familiy has a better outcome that the last time. Abdications and constitutional crises are not to be repeated. We wish them both well.
