The ritual associated with the Royal Navy and drinking is a worthy of a book. Seamen were often pressganged. but they could not be taken from an inward bound nor outward bound ship. In this there was some protection from being taken on another long voyage having been forcibly removed from home for many years to undertake the first. Thus one was safe from the pressgangs when inward or outwrad bound. There is another old Naval saying to the effect of whether you be inward or outward bound then drink ! Made by Hill Ouston these are in immaculate condition and refract the light superbly. You willl love them all the more when filled.
