The Vienna Secession was formed of a group of Austrian artists tired with the conservative tendencies of the Austrian art world. After the Kunstlerhaus (a major private art exhibitor) re-elected the conservative Eugeen Felix as their president in 1896 a group of artists. including Koloman Moser. formed the Vienna Secession. Bringing a number of artists working across different fields including glassware the Secession was defined by modern. forward thinking. and naturalistic art.
