Arcaded rims are known on sweetmeat glasses made in the first half of the 18th century. This however is definitely a reproduction. A reproduction becomes a fake when intended to deceive. The wear on the underside of the foot certainly has been mechanically applied and this was sold to our customer as a Genuine 18th century sweetmeat. We shall give the vendor the benefit of the doubt. they too may have been unaware as this is very convincing in many respects.
