Description
Masonic glasses were made to be used and to last. This is a very substantial glass It has a flute bowl with a flared rim. It stands on a plain stem with a single knop and a side stuck conical foot. The bowl is deceptive so that the drinker would not get too drunk. It has been engraved with the sun. the ruler of the day and the moon. the ruler of the night. together with set square and compass.
It stands 6 1/2 inches tall with a 2 1/2 inch bowl. No chips or cracks and it is deceptively heavy without being filled.
This glass shape is typical for both wine and champagne glasses produced in 1930s Germany and Bohemia.
