Originally designed with the travelling gentleman in mind. silver pocket corkscrews are now much in demand by collectors of wine antiques. This Dutch example is relatively plain and elegant with an engine turned finish to the handle and sheath cover. The steel worm is of full length and although the handle is slightly loose this corkscrew will still do the job.
Please note that what looks like dents on the handle and sheath are actually Dutch ‘sword’ silver marks. There is also a very worn maker’s mark on the sheath but this is no longer legible.
