Jennings Brother Manufacturing Co were set up in Bridgedale, Connecticut in 1890 and produced many types of decorative items until the 1920s.  This cast trinket box absolutely screams Art Nouveau and French influences in the design with it's naturalistic rose themed decoration and handle.  The natural curves and flow are in stark contrast to, and much softer than the European Jugendstil movement of the period. Cast from nickel alloy, the warm copper finish has taken on a deep rosy glow from decades of polishing and the nickel base showing through adds to the character of this attractive box.
