Date : Date letter sadly rubbed – as is the makers mark ( JW TW ?) and assay office mark – sterling standard mark present.
Origin : England
Decoration : Hammered bowl. seal top.
Size : 17.2×5.1cm
Condition : Excellent. minimal wear other than to the marks
Restoration : None
Weight : 39 grams
The bowl is not pierced at the junction of the handle and spoon. This discounts it being 17th or 18th century manufacture. The prominent hammered finish on the bowl is reminiscent of metalwares produced by the Guild and School of Handicraft in Chipping Camden in the Cotswolds in the early 20th century and Charles Ashbee. The lack of date and assay office office marks may be intentional
