Heading : Sterling Silver Armorial Waiter – Otley Family Crest and Motto

Decoration : Fluted lip and scrolled rim. raised on three hoof feet. Engraved with a banded wheat-sheaf (more properly referred to as a ‘garbe’) with three arrows over a torse; scrolled motto reading ”Dat Deus Incrementum” (God Gives Growth)
Size :  18.1 cm diameter x 2.7 cm high
Condition :Excellent; one pin-prick to the base of the well. Some light scratches
Restoration : None
Weight :   271 grams . excellent gauge

When made this was intended to protect a table from the base of and wine from an onion shaped bottle. We have tried this with modern a magnum bottle and it fits well. More than adequate for the modern 75cl bottle
