Georgian Silver 1/2 Pint Tankard c1783

Description

An excellent Georgian Silver Tankard fully hallmarked for London 1783.

This has a tale to tell. Made in London in 1783 this has been later decorated by the addition of decoration and an inscription to commemorate a christening some 60 years later !

“James Spencer Hollings from his Godmother Mrs Dowding 1845” is inscribed within a decorative panel. a second panel has yet to be dedicated. It has a few small dings but nothing major and it is in overall good condition.

Measures 3 ½ inches tall and 2 7/8 inches in diameter and is in fact a 1/2 pint tankard.
