Heading : A Georgian heavy covered sterling silver quart tankard
Date : Hallmarked in London in 1792 For John Robbins
Period : George III
Origin : London England

Decoration : Tapered body with reeded decoration. Hinged cover with fan shaped thumb piece. Engraved armorial with three lions couchant on the cover and a crest with arm supporting a dog on the flank.
Size :  Height 19cm to top of thumb piece. base diameter 11.3cm
Condition : Excellent. Light scratched only
Restoration : None
Weight :  918grams (29.5 troy)

This is the heaviest 18th century tankard that we have offered for sale. It was made from an excellent gauge and to endure the centuries.
