Additional Information : Peter Bateman was the son of the most famous 18th century English female silversmith Hester Bateman and continued her legacy after her death in 1794.

The crest shows an arm embowed vested holding in the hand an ostrich feather and a cross crosslet fitchée. We love the formality of heraldic descriptions. “Vested” means clothed. Each arm of the cross is a cross itself. hence crosslet. Fitchée means a pointed lower extremity.

All we need to do now is identify the family name.
