An Italian 800 Standard Silver Teapot c1820

Heading : A fine early 19th century Italian silver teapot
Date : 1800-1840
Origin : Italy
Decoration : Parallel engraved bands of leaves. vacant cartouche on both flanks
Size :  Height 17.5cm.  top of handle to tip of spout 30cms
Condition : Good. Two small areas of abrasion. Heat breakers in handle are not cracked. pours well. no leaks. Stained internally. Very good gauge

Weight :  715 grams

Two of three marks on base are worn but this is marked as 800 and tests accordingly. It was not until the 1930s that a nationwide and consistent approach to marking silver was mandated.
