Quite simply one of the most gloriously Victorian tea and coffee sets we have ever seen. As specialists in Georgian silver. we often bemoan the Victorian habit of getting hold of old silver and applying senseless bright cutting to what was once an elegent and simplistic piece of design. This being said. when the Victorians got it right. they got it right in spades. The Puginesque grandiosity of the piece is truly awe inspiring. The Victorians had a habit of taking everything to its extreme. and this set represents silver taken as far as it can go. in both form and detail it is exceptional. We take our hats off to Joseph Angel II.
