The silver George II shilling in the base is dated 1757. This is not hallmarked. suggetsing provincial manufacture. Tests silver
Used to serve hot toddy from a serving rummer or punch bowl and into drinking glasses. The twisted whalebone handle affords a better grip. These are also perfect for warming brandy at the fireside and for dousing christmas pudding in flaming brandy.
