Heading : A very fine WMF claret jug
Date : 1895-1902
Origin : Geislingen an der Steige. Germany – Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik
Colour : Clear glass and silver plate cover
Body : Square base cut with finger flutes. Engraved with a rose above a mirrored arch. Fully marked beneath the handle as shown with export marks for electro-plate with antique silver finish
Glass Type : Lead free
Size : Height 28cms
Condition : Very good.No chips of cracks and no wear in the silver plate. I little limescale residue in the base

Weight :  569 grams

Dessert wines. spirits. schnapps or gin. We do not know the original purpose. It almost holds an entire bottle of wine. but I believe it it would be better suited for port. dessert wine or perhaps sherry or marsala
