Description
Heading : A Georgian silver claret jug
Date : 1789
Period : George III
Origin : Hallmarked for Thomas Oliphant of London in 1789

Size : 33 cms tall to top of finial
Condition : Good. Some minor dings.
Restoration : We have recovered the base with new felt as it had degraded

The bases of tall silver items were invariably “loaded”. filled with lead or plaster to increase stability. This is no exception. We have not given the weight in “troy ounces” as this would not represent the true weight of the silver content.
