Derby Coffee Can and Saucer c1805

The cans have a very distinctive pointed handle that was unique to Derby. Pieces marked with crown and cross batons above D in plum. The marks are both small and precise. Decorated with a border of vine leaves and iron red and gilt scrolls. The gilding shows some wear.

We are including a matching teacup wit a “French” handle. The bowls are bucket shaped. The gilding on the cups is very worn and we are including one with each can and saucer free of charge. They have been together for over 200 years and it seems a pity to end it.
