Zachariah Boreman was originally a Chelsea artist and was relocated to Derby in 1783 following the purchase of the Chelsea factory by William Duesbury. He specialised in landscape vignettes of Derbyshire. This was also gilded by Thomas Soar. If the border had been painted by Billingsley this would be the ultimate kudos piece. it was not but we are certain such pieces will exist as their tenures at Derby were coincident.
