Eric Knowles Comments
The fine quality painting evident on this plate is typical of that produced at Derby from 1800 to 1825. It is difficult to offer a name for the artist responsible as John Twichett points out in his splendid ‘Derby Porcelain’ Barrie and Jenkins page 240 plate 316 by quoting Haslem in that there is a family likeness in the style of the floral painters of this period.
