Heading :  Pair of Derby Named View Dessert Plates c1815
Date : c 1815
Period : George III
Marks : Iron red painted crown. crossed batons and different name on each plate – ‘In Germany’ and ‘In Italy’; small numeric 54 (in indigo) to both. near the foot rim 
Origin : Derby; England
Colour : Polychrome image within extensive gilt decoration to cavette and rim

Features: Germany shows two gentlemen walking over a bridge towards a distant castle; Italy shows a solitary walker to the foreground and castle in the far distance.
Condition : Minimal gilt loss to both; Germany has some kiln spit to both sides and some larger under-glaze inclusions to the well; Italy is similar but with slighty more inclusions to the well. and less kiln spit to the reverse
Restoration : none
Dimensions : 21.8 cm diameter x 4.2 cm high
Weight : 899 rams in total

Note : the composition of both images is very much in the style of Daniel Lucas (Snr)
