Marks : painted in iron red. crown. batons and cursive ‘D’
Origin : Derby; England
Colour : puce and gilt over white grounds
Pattern : Foliate pattern accented with broad gilt bands; finer gilt leaves to the handles
Features: Cup with a ring finial to the lid and French handles; the well of the stand or saucer is recessed in to the cavetto
Condition : Excellent; two minor firing cracks to the lower terminals of the handles; wear to the gilding around the cup and stand rims. and to the innermost concentric circle on the stand; tiny amount of kiln spit inside the foot-rim of the stand and to the lid. which has been overpainted. with a little scorching to the underside of the lip.
