Origin : Derby. England
Colour : Polychrome with gilt detailing
Pattern : Seated figure of a shepherd playing bagpipes with his dog beside him on a rococo base; the figure sits on a treestump with bocage to both sides
Features: Several details which are often missing from other examples of this piece are intact – the feathers on the hat. the tip of the bagpipes’ mouthpiece and all of the shepherd’s fingers.
Condition : Excellent. other than some minimal losses to the bocage. a firing crack across the underside of the base and some scorching to the feet of the base
Restoration : Some very minimal retouching of the green enamel where there are nicks to the bocage
Dimensions : 16.9 cm tall
Weight : 419 grams
