This figure is from a set of the French Seasons initially modelled by Pierre Stephan after the originals made at Tournai and with scrollwork bases. This example is from a later set said to have been remodelled in 1795 by William Coffee whose chose to use circular drum bases the undersides have been ground flat and exhibit a typical wide circular expansion hole.
