Eric Knowles Comments

The type of decoration Chelsea-Dery applied to this example shows a strong influence to that Vincennes and Sevre were producing. Such influence had in previous decades emanated from the Meissen porcelain works in Saxony following the highly important discovery in 1710 of how to produce hard paste porcelain closely akin to that being imported from China.
