Additional Information : We have no idea as to how this pattern and its variants became associated to the artist Joshua Reynolds. Some texts claim that Reynolds owned a service in this pattern. The pattern was first used by Chelsea in the first half of the 1750’s. Worcester soon adopted this themselves but the wet blue ground and gilded versions are later. Some gilded versions are associated with the Giles atelier.
