Features : A cup and saucer without the usual fluting seen with this pattern. Loop handle to the cup and a steeply inclined lip to the saucer
Size : 54mm tall by 130mm in diameter
Condition : Very good. tiny nibbles to the foot string; minor loss to gilding on the rim of the cup and three manufacturing inclusions to the internal base of the bowl; wear entirely commensurate with age; colours are bright and vibrant throughout.

Porcelain imports from Japan dwindled from 1725 to 1745. Less expensive Chinese imports became available via the East India Company (VOC). The patterns were obviously very popular with the gentry. and Worcester and other manufactories took it upon themselves to copy them assiduously. The Japanese Fan. Old Mosaic (or Mosaick). Queen’s. Rich Queen’s. Brocade and others are all direct copies of Arita imports.
