Pattern : Repeating quatrefoil device. each within a moulded hexagonal cartouche on the basket. with a pair of shell handles each to the stand and basket; the handle on the lid is in the form of an applied globe artichoke with its distinctive leaves. with a smaller applied version of the same which is purely decorative; the stand is of lobed form. which repeats in the form of the basket and lid

Condition : Very good; to the lid – one of the fleshy leaves of the smaller flower has a broken tip. and the extremity of one stems has also been lost. though the missing pieces are tiny. The basket section is excellent with just some tiny nibbles to the edge of each handle. and glaze shrinkage inside the base rim; the stand is again excellent. with no issues other than a shrinkage crack along the inside of the base rim; no damage to the pierced areas; there is some gilt wear throughout
