The authors point out that this design is sometimes erroneously referred to as the Meissen Onion pattern. Furthermore the pattern was widely used by the Copenhagen, Rauenstein, Wallendorf and other Thuringian factories. The pattern was also adopted by the Lowestoft Porcelain factory. For two Lowestoft porcelain coffee cups painted with variants of this pattern see English Blue and White porcelain of the 18th Century, Bernard Watney, Plate 80C.
