Features : The red and gold borders are not particularly scarce. but very striking nonetheless; Spero and Sandon. referenced below. note that the design – with and without the gold infill – is referred to as a ‘crowfoot’ pattern.
Condition : Excellent; no cracks. chips or significant scratches; there are the usual tiny nicks to the floral finial petals as should be expected. but the cover is otherwise flawless; the tea-pot has a few tiny inadvertent spots of blue and puce enamel. and a myriad of pinprick glaze bubbles inside the foot-string; there is a little gilt-loss to the border on the hexagonal stand. the body of which is a little less bright than the tea-pot itself; this and the difference of the green colour used on either piece. and some minute variations in the gilding detail. suggest that the two pieces may not be an original pair
