Description
A rare first period Worcester fluted lozenge shaped dish. decorated in coloured enamels at the atelier of James Giles with a central vase festooned with garlands of flowers. within a formal central border that is inturn surrounded by a mazarine blue border gilded with fruiting vines. Worcester Crescent mark. There is an old restoration on the rim whereby a small chip has been gilded over. This is highlighted in the photographs. The gilding on the rim has also been improved at two other points as shown.
The restoration has been reflected in the price. It displays very well indeed. 23.5cms x 17cms approx
