Marks : Mock Chinese characters in underglaze blue. The saucer carries a stylised ‘5’ and the tea bowl a ‘stylised 6’
Origin : English
Colour : White and blue
Pattern : Oriental ‘bandstand’
Features : Gilt band detailing. the saucer has an inner gilded spray
Size : Tea Bowl : 1 5/8 inches tall by 3 1/8 inches in diameter Saucer : 1 1/8 inches tall by 4 7/8 inches in diameter
Condition : Excellent. minor gilt rub
Restoration : None
Weight : 135 grams

Additional Information : For marks reference please see ‘Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks’ by Geoffrey A.Godden. page 133 under ‘Caughley’. These marks were formally attributed to Caughley but are Worcester marks. This pattern is similar to that of Caughleys ‘Pagoda’ and ‘Temple’
