Eric Knowles Comments

This trio is somewhat problematic in as far as this pattern appears on both Caughley and Worcester porcelains sold 'in the white' and consequently 'outside' decorated, including the workshop of James Giles suggested as a possibility by one authority.

The quality of the gilding and slightest of variation in composition are indicative of having been decorated in the Chamberlain workshop shortly before  producing their own porcelain blanks in 1786
