Pattern : This is a marriage between two distinct Herculaneum Imari patterns – the cup being pattern 886 and the saucer being pattern 808
Features: Distinctive ‘type 2’ handles – see Eric’s note below
Condition : Excellent; tiny. slightly rough glaze-free abrasions to the foot-rims of both pieces; some wear to the gilding on the saucer. very fine glaze crazing inside the cup which has attracted the merest hint of staining
