Pattern : A pre-amalgamation version of the Masonic crest of the Grand Lodge of England.

Features: A handle profile similar to others made by William Reid. and with the characteristic Liverpudlian green tinge to the glaze.
Condition : Excellent; scattered kiln-spit with some light staining and a little roughness to the foot-rim; no cracks. chips or flakes; the foot-rim is not entirely even. and there is a little wobble on a flat surface

Dimensions : 12.0 cm tall – 11.2 cm diameter at widest point
Weight : 253 grams

Note : This is a collaborative effort between two of the major players on the Liverpool porcelain scene of the mid 18th century – potter William Reid and printer John Sadler; the same image can be seen printed in iron-red – with the same attribution – under the British Museum reference 1887.0307.X.11
