Marks : saucer has pattern number 2013 painted in gold. cup with an almost imperceptible scratched H2
Origin : Stoke-upon-Trent.England
Colour : Gilt. cobalt blue. puce and iron red
Pattern : #1495 – Imari pattern; fence and flower pot; birds to the border
Size : The saucer is 14.0 cm in diameter and the teacup is 5.8 cm high x 8.2 cm diameter
Condition : Excellent. very slight wear to the gilt; a tiny area of errant blue under the saucer rim and an underglaze inclusion to the base

Weight : 233 grams combined
Note : The ‘candlelight’ designation is given to eighty patterns which were produced using a platinum-enhanced gilding. intended to look particularly impressive when placed on a candle-lit table; Spode purists. contemporary and later. sometimes consider(ed) these pieces to be somewhat ostentatious when viewed in natural light.
