Additional Information : The Nantgarw China Works produced some of the most highly sought after porcelain following the arrival of one William Billingsley. We believe that the small painted insects were a device used to cover minor imperfections in the porcelain.
References : The Victoria and Albert museum and the National Museum of Wales both house very similar examples from the Herbert Allen collection.
