Eric Knowles Comments
This splendid Swansea plate was painted by James Turner at the Sims Workshops in London with an overall design that mirrors that of the celebrated Burdett Coutts service. This extensive service was purchased in 1816 prior to being sold by the Coutts family at Christies London auction house in 1922
