Eric Knowles Comments

Assigning most Welsh porcelains to a specific independant London decorating workshop is always problematic with that of Thomas Baxter a possible exception.

The quality of the decoration on this dish suggests a senior talent and therefore it is understandable why it found its way into probably the most important collection of Welsh porcelain of the late 20th century formed by the late Sir Leslie Joseph.
