Condition : Several small chips to rim of cover and one on the the floral finial. A small chip to the tip of the spout. The spout has been restored. the junction betwen the spout and the body has been repainted during restoration.

Dimensions : 14.5cms from top of handle to tip of spout. 11.5cms tall

Reference :The simple loop handle and straight spout are typical of those teapots made after 1765 as it has no thumb rest on the handle and no return at the bottom the handle. The open flower knop is unusual.
When made this was simply blue and white. The imari decoration and gilding has been added at a later stage. Items that did not sell were returned to the factory and redecorated. This may also have been clobbered externally when imari patterns were in vogue from 1775 onwards.
