Description
A Chamberlains Worcester Sucrier c1796-1800
Ref. Godden. G A (1992) Chamberlain-Worcester Porcelain
Marked to the underside of the lid ” Chamberlains Warranted Worcester No 70″ in gilt script as shown. Pattern number 70 was first produced in 1796. Chamberains started as porcelain decorators of pieces from Worcester and Caughey. By 1792 they had started to produce their own porcelain. This piece could be their own production or Worcester. we cant remember seeing a piece with a ring finial on Caughley marked pieces. certainly Neale. Chelsea and Derby did. but we live and learn.
Overall this is in excellent condition. There is some loss to the gilding on the rim of the bowl for a 4cm section a. It aso has a chip top the underside of the lid as shown that measures 8mm x 4mm. This can easily be restored if you would like us to arrange that for you. but it is hidden from view and we simply would not bother. The condition is reflected in the price and this is a perfectly functional. so please use it !
It is 14.5 cms x 11cms and 14.5cms tall approx
