Bowl Features : Decorated against mirror black with a highly stylised design that features a pair of yellow centred sky blue Poppy flowers upon sinuous stems.
Marks : Designers signature. decorators initials SP. impressed Acorn year symbol and Black Ryden. Made in Stoke on Trent.
Type : Slip cast and lathe hand turned form.
Size : Height 17cms

Black Ryden Pottery together with Cobridge Stoneware were sister companies of W Moorcroft that operated for a short term between 2002 and 2005. The shapes and forms applied at Black Ryden were influenced by the classic Art Nouveau Rozenburg Pottery and Eggshell ceramics made in The Hague during the late 19th and early 20th century and a firm favourite of the company chairman who at one time owned a sizeable collection.

Kerry Goodwin remains a long serving member of the Moorcroft Pottery design team and I am pleased to announce is not only a gifted designer but also a personal family friend. The title Papaver is the Latin name for a Poppy.
