Henry Harris Lines was born to a family of artists. his father Samuel Lines being a prominent member of the Birmingham School. Lines Jr. first exhibited at the Royal Acadamy aged 17 or 18 and launched a long and successful career predominantly as a landscape specialist with a focus on the rural idyll.
