Origin : Made for the Mayfair retailer Thomas Goode to celebrate the coronation of George VI and Queen Elizabeth

Bowl : Tapered cylinder with girdle. Engraved with GRE monogram set within a wreath of acorns. oak leaves and thistles. The upper handle engraved with roses and shamrocks and leeks on the sides. Alternating sprays of oak leaves and acorns followed by thistles around the base both denoted in Gelic and English Darag ( oak) and Cluaran (thistle) respectively. An engraved and polished crown above the text The Stuart Descent From Robert The Steward 1371 To King George VI 1936. The underside of the foot is also engraved. References : Robert The Steward was the son in law of Robert I of Scotland and this is the source from which the House Of Stewart later Stuart derived it’s name. The sentiments of Herbert Goode could not be clearer. in the 1930s he designed and produced FIAT wine and ale glasses adorned with Roses.
